Originality gate

pnpm theme:check fails a theme that is Anchor with new colours. This runs before a human review, and it is not negotiable.

Why it exists

Every platform that shipped a beautiful reference theme under a permissive licence ended up with a marketplace of reskins of it. That is bad for merchants, who cannot tell stores apart, and bad for the studios doing original work, who compete with copies of the free example.

What it measures

Proportion of shared code that is substantially identical to Anchor.
How many shared files are clones rather than reimplementations.
Count of genuinely original files.
Whether signature organisms — hero, featured listings, CTA band — were cloned.

Anchor's design is not licensed to you. You may read Anchor, run it, and use it as the scaffold. You may not redistribute it or ship a recognisable derivative of its design. Your original design is entirely yours.

Passing it honestly

The reliable route is to learn the contract from Anchor, then delete its components and build your own. Themes that try to pass by renaming variables and shuffling markup tend to fail both the gate and the review.
